beautifully knitted used Plastic Bags

Anna from Bring Your Own movement just recently brought up an interesting subject of plastic junks in our ocean that pollute and become food source of some sea creatures that live there. She also post another write up about the same subject in order to emphasize in using less plastic all together. Why not bring your own bag, cup, container, chopsticks, etc.? Smile. It's just more fun and more original!

I can't find the source where I read it the other day (arghh...), but according to these guys, we're using about 700 plastic bags each year per person (U.S. based research). What happen to those bags after? thrown out somewhere...in our water system sewer, river, or ocean? That's sad. Look at what happen to our nature after decades of our 'abuse'!

As a person who's trying to act on what she believes in, I try to find a solution to this plastic problem by bringing my own shopping bag and saying NO to another plastic bag as often as I can. Also those plastic I had collected since I've been here (2yrs), I use and cut them up to make a bag by knitting them. I have used up all my plastic bags that I needed friends/family to donate their collection of plastic bags too at the end, so it's been a team effort here. The more the merrier. Step 1, step 2, step 3, step 4 (this final one). Voila, after a couple of hundreds of plastic bags, I got a new beautifully knitted (big) bag!
